Hi all,
So I picked upwards a set of DRL headlights to upgrade from the stock SR5 not-DRLs, had to blackness them out of form lol.

I haven't seen a DIY for this and have also seen tons of questions around what wire is what and where does it go?

And so I figured I'd knock this out for anybody.

I made some harnesses to make it all plug and play with the exception of tapping into the power of the headlight wire.

If anyone with an SR5 is interested in doing this, I can brand a harness/connector kit for you.

Driver'southward side wires
Headlight connector: +Ruby-red | -White/Black
DRL/Turn Signal connector: - White/Black | +Red (New DRL Wire) | +Brownish (Plow signal wire)

Rider's side wires
Headlight connector: +Blue | -White/Blackness
DRL/Turn Point connector: -White/Black | +Bluish (New DRL Wire) | +Lt Blueish (Plough signal wire)

Wires on the new DRL harness I made: - Black | +High Cherry-red | +Low Orange
Wires on the 3-Pin harness I made:
Footing: -Black (I grounded where the current 10mm ground points are for the headlight ground wires. Driver'due south is next to the battery and passenger'due south is next to the washer fluid tank)
DRL Hi: That will be your +High wire (Either Cherry-red for commuter or Blue for passenger side)
Ability: +White (This wire volition tap into your +Headlight wire)

SR5 Stock 3-Pin DRL/Turn Point connector to New DRL and New Turn Signal

Some notes here: I popped the white role of the connector forward so I could cleanly, unpin the wires. I then only cut the female pin on the DRL wires and fastened a male side so it would go into the new three-Pin harness I made.

Driver Side:

In one case I had everything wired, I re-loomed and taped everything back up so that it looked stock

DRL's plough OFF when headlights are selected, does this MOD exercise that?

The DRL's exercise non plow off when the headlights are turned on, they simply dim.
This is set to work merely similar the models above the SR/SR5.
Just verified...they don't dim, they just stay ON

There you have it . Information technology'south a bit of a different setup for the SR/SR5'south as the DRL is likewise the plow signal
Alright, and so ever on and dim while headlights are on? Flash for plough signal at full brightness in both cases?

Yes, can be on w/ or w/o headlights. It is said the DRLs dim when you turn on the headlights, but I don't actually notice a difference.
The wink for plough signal is full brightness in both cases.

I accept an sr5 and I just put switch dorsum bulbs in the amber turn signals, will they yet work?

Hey,
I'thousand non 100% positive that your switchback bulbs will still part the same way they are currently.

Might want to see what kind of LED seedling members with DRL headlights are using?

I'll search effectually as well.

I think you can disable the DRL from the radio? At to the lowest degree y'all can from the radio on the SR5.
or y'all can just unplug the DRL harness?
Pull the DRL fuse.
